Research Overview

Our lab focuses on defining how metabolites function as regulatory signals and metabolic fuels to orchestrate cell–cell and tissue/organ communication and to shape metabolic pathway flux and fate in health and disease. We seek to uncover the metabolic logic by which these networks shape cellular identity and function, ultimately governing physiological homeostasis and disease progression.

Within this framework, our research is structured around two major areas: (1) immunometabolism and metabo-epigenetic regulation in inflammatory diseases, ang aging, and (2) metabolic rewiring in liver diseases, including inflammation, fibrosis, and metabolic liver disease, examined through cell-type-specific fuel metabolism across diverse hepatic cell populations and the gut–liver axis.
